Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Triumphs

Roosevelt hadn't done well against Madera South recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Rough Riders walked away with a 7-3 win over the Stallions. This was a revenge game for the Rough Riders: when they faced off against the Stallions on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-3 defeat.

David Meza made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 5.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Meza wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Luis Estrada, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs Estrada has posted since back in March. Leonardo Gonzales-Sanchez was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 14-11-1. As for Madera South, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-20-1.

As of now, neither Roosevelt nor the Stallions have any future games scheduled.
