Volleyball Recap: Out-Of-Door Academy Starts off Right with Win over Palmetto

Out-of-Door Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Palmetto Tigers by a score of 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Thunder in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Out-of-Door Academy walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-17, 22-25, 25-15.

Out-of-Door Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Scarlett Vella led the charge by getting seven digs and five aces. That's the most digs Vella has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Rice, who had 15 digs and two aces.

Looking ahead, Out-of-Door Academy will face off against Southwest Florida Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palmetto, they will take on Booker at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
