Softball Recap: Satellite Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

While Satellite put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Braddock. The Satellite Scorpions were the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over the Braddock Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Scorpions, who have now won six matchups by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Satellite got a massive performance out of Michaella Gaskins, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Gaskins' first of the season. Abigal Scaglione was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Satellite always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Braddock only posted an OBP of .385.

Satellite is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. Braddock's loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Satellite and Braddock better get some defensive drills in before they play next: their upcoming opponents both sport some potent offenses. Satellite will take on Ferguson at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, a team that's put up 13.2 13.2 runs per game. Satellite is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Similarly, Braddock will collide with American and their lofty 9.91 9.91 runs per game at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Satellite's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Braddock's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
