Football Recap: Fruita Monument Comes Up Short

Fruita Monument lost against Castle View back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats took a 20-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sabercats. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although Fruita Monument took the loss, they still got scores from Macoy Masten and Cooper Rowell.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Castle View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Henman, who rushed for 81 yards and one score. Henman is becoming a predictor of the Sabercats' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Another signal caller making a difference was Hudson Rodarte, who threw for 109 yards and one touchdown.

Fruita Monument's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Castle View, the victory also got them back to even at 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fruita Monument is set to challenge their familiar foe Rock Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Castle View will face off against rival Valor Christian at 6:30 p.m. on the 10th.
