Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Dos Palos' Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Dos Palos's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Roosevelt Rough Riders as they made off with an 11-0 win. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Breann Raney made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, Kenya Anaya was incredible, earning three runs and five stolen bases. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayla Bland, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Dos Palos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Dos Palos has already played their next game, a 13-1 win against Firebaugh on the 22nd. As for Roosevelt, they will host San Joaquin Memorial at 3:30 p.m. on the 23rd. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.63 runs per game on average), something the Rough Riders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
