Softball Game Preview: St. Francis Troubadours vs. River City Raiders

The St. Francis Troubadours will head out to challenge the River City Raiders at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Wednesday, St. Francis came up short against Rocklin and fell 6-1. The Troubadours have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Francis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Lewis, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, River City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Vanden, falling 12-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

River City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for St. Francis, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Everything went St. Francis' way against River City in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as St. Francis made off with a 15-2 victory. Will the Troubadours repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
