Football Game Preview: Gaston vs. Knappa

Knappa will challenge Gaston on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Knappa don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.

After flying high against Vernonia two weeks ago, Knappa came back down to earth. Knappa found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 14-38 punch to the gut against Neah-Kah-Nie last Friday. Knappa's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Gaston have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 29-8 margin over Portland Christian. Gaston were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Knappa were fully in charge the last time the two teams met, breezing past Gaston 50-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Knappa since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
