Basketball Recap: Wapello Takes a Loss

Wapello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Columbus Wildcats, falling 51-29. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Wildcats are ranked 113th).

Wapello's record now sits at 5-13. As for Columbus, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wapello has already played their next contest (against Holy Trinity Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Columbus Wildcats duke it out with the Pekin Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
