Baseball Recap: Montwood Takes a Loss

Montwood blew Socorro out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Socorro got their revenge. The Rams fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-4. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Juan Garcia made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Joziah Gutierrez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Montwood has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12-2 record this season. As for Socorro, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.

While Montwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
