Volleyball Recap: Phiona Douglas Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat North College Hill

Deer Park won the last time they faced North College Hill and things went their way on Monday too. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trojans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Deer Park was: they took every set by at least 16 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-2, 25-9.

Deer Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Phiona Douglas, who had ten aces. Those ten aces gave Douglas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Beach, who had 16 assists and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Deer Park was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Deer Park now has a winning record of 8-7. As for North College Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Deer Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Finneytown on the 23rd. As for North College Hill, they will challenge Clark Montessori at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
