Preview: Lely Trojans vs. North Tampa Christian Academy Titans
The Lely Trojans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the North Tampa Christian Academy Titans at 9:45 a.m. on December 22nd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard on Friday.
Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Lely, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 76-60 loss to Gulf Coast. While losing is never fun, Lely can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while Gulf Coast is ranked 200th).
Meanwhile, North Tampa Christian Academy had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.1 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 80-49 victory over Barron Collier on the road. The result was nothing new for North Tampa Christian Academy, who have now won six matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
Landyn Colyer and Toni Bryant were among the main playmakers for North Tampa Christian Academy as the former scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals and the latter dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 14 rebounds, and ten blocks. The game was Bryant 's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Archie McFadden , who scored eight points along with 12 assists and five rebounds.
Lely's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
