Preview: St. Joseph Fighting Irish vs. Riverfield Academy Raiders
St. Joseph has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Riverfield Academy Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
St. Joseph's game on Friday was all tied up 6-6 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. Their rough 28-6 loss to Adams County Christian might stick with them for a while.
Meanwhile, Riverfield Academy fell victim to Canton Academy's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Panthers, falling 40-0. Riverfield Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losses dropped St. Joseph to 4-5 and Riverfield Academy to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for St. Joseph against Riverfield Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 46-0 victory. Does St. Joseph have another victory up their sleeve, or will Riverfield Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
