Baseball Recap: Blacklick Valley Triumphs

Blacklick Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays by a score of 6-2 on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-2 back in April.

Eli Sheesley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aiden Boring, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Greg Schilling, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Blacklick Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conemaugh Valley only posted a batting average of .208.

Blacklick Valley's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Conemaugh Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Blacklick Valley nor Conemaugh Valley have any future games scheduled.
