Basketball Recap: Eric Batchelor's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Elite Scholars Academy over Trion

Elite Scholars Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They came up short against the Trion Bulldogs, falling 57-36. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-40 back in January.

Elite Scholars Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Eric Batchelor, who posted five points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jerel Clark, who had six points.

Elite Scholars Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Trion, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Elite Scholars Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-44 victory against Greenville on the 8th. As for Trion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-38 loss against Manchester on the 8th.
