Volleyball Game Preview: Maiden Blue Devils vs. Bandys Trojans

The Maiden Blue Devils will square off against the Bandys Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maiden will be strutting in after a win while Bandys will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, Maiden beat South Iredell 3-1.

The victory didn't come easy: South Iredell scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Bandys came up short against North Lincoln on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.

Bandys actually scored more points across those four sets (90-88), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 13-25, 25-20.

Bandys' loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Maiden, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Maiden was able to grind out a solid win over Bandys when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
