Volleyball Recap: Forreston Cardinals vs. Pecatonica Indians

Forreston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Pecatonica Indians. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Forreston had to take the loss, they sure made a game of it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-14.

Breelyn Schneiderman paced Forreston's offense, picking up nine kills. Schneiderman got some help from Hailee Vogt and her 20 assists. Finally, Cara Pals kept Forreston's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Pecatonica got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Seven Rasner out in front who had 16 digs and two aces. Those 16 digs gave Rasner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam Cobb, who had 15 digs and two assists.

Forreston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Pecatonica, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forreston will face off against Lena-Winslow at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pecatonica, they will challenge Pearl City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games the Wolves have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
