Basketball Game Preview: Sycamore Aviators vs. Fairfield Indians

The Sycamore Aviators are taking a road trip to challenge the Fairfield Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sycamore will be strutting in after a victory while Fairfield will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Saturday, Sycamore was able to grind out a solid win over Oak Hills, taking the game 52-45.

Meanwhile, Fairfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Princeton 58-19. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Vikings are ranked 45th).

Sycamore pushed their record up to 7-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Fairfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Sycamore might still be hurting after the 50-30 loss they got from Fairfield when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Sycamore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
