Northwest Area entered their tilt with Sugar Valley Rural on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Phoenix with a sharp 14-3 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rangers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Northwest Area's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Loegan Diltz, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Northwest Area pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Sugar Valley Rural, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7-1.

Northwest Area has already played their next game, a 10-4 victory against Hanover Area on the 25th. As for Sugar Valley Rural, they will be taking part in a tournament against Benton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
