Football Game Preview: Vincent Memorial Scots vs. Calexico Bulldogs

The Vincent Memorial Scots will square off against the Calexico Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vincent Memorial will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Vincent Memorial is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Calipatria 38-0. The Scots pushed the score to 31-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hornets had no chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vincent Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Patricio Carranza, who threw for 224 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 91.7% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Carranza a new career-high in passer rating (170.1). Emiliano Sanchez was another key rusher, gaining 119 total yards and a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Vincent Memorial's defense and their three sacks. Juan Pablo Rivero was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Meanwhile, Calexico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 58-14 defeat at the hands of Holtville. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-14.

Although Calexico took the loss, they still got scores from Alberto Castro and Andre Lopez.

Calexico's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Vincent Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Things could have been worse for Vincent Memorial, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 14-0 loss to Calexico when the teams last played back in November of 2024.
