Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Glide

Glide had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Siuslaw Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ella Weber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Glide let Peyton Geiger and Brionna Miller run wild. Geiger went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Miller went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most hits Miller has posted over her last 11 contests. Samantha Moyers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Glide kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Glide's record now sits at 14-7. As for Siuslaw, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Looking ahead, Glide will face off against Marshfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Siuslaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
