Recap: Climax Springs Cougars vs. Warsaw Wildcats

If the Climax Springs Cougars were feeling good off their 67-46 takedown of the Golden City Eagles back in December of 2023, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Climax Springs was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 35-34 to the Wildcats. Climax Springs was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Warsaw's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Gemes, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Noah Siebert was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.

Climax Springs' loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Warsaw, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Climax Springs will take on the Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hermitage and the Cougars are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Warsaw, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. El Dorado Springs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in Missouri (the Bulldogs are ranked 222nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 478th).
