Basketball Recap: Heritage's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Heritage won the last time they faced Antioch and things went their way on Friday too. The Heritage Patriots walked away with a 58-47 victory over the Antioch Panthers. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Panthers are ranked 615th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Heritage to victory were Julian Njelita and Brady Lockrem. Njelita posted 15 points, while Lockrem put up 13 points. Those 15 points gave Njelita a new career-high. Jace Bernard was another key player, putting up eight points.

Heritage's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-9. As for Antioch, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Heritage has already played their next game, a 66-64 defeat against Cornerstone Christian on the 20th. As for Antioch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-44 loss against Pittsburg on the 21st.
