Basketball Game Preview: Arapahoe Warriors vs. Rock Canyon Jaguars

The Arapahoe Warriors will take on the Rock Canyon Jaguars in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Arapahoe is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Mountain Range: they outscored them in every quarter. Arapahoe enjoyed a cozy 57-39 win over Mountain Range on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Miles McMonigle was a one-man wrecking crew for Arapahoe as he went 8 of 20 en route to 22 points. Those 22 points gave McMonigle a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Pramenko, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rock Canyon). They walked away with a 78-71 victory over Overland on Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Jaguars with their most commanding win of the season.

Rock Canyon's win came from a few key players Arapahoe will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacob David, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kasen Lehman, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds.

Rock Canyon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Rock Canyon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Arapahoe, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Arapahoe came up short against Rock Canyon when the teams last played back in December of 2016, falling 49-40. Thankfully for Arapahoe, Sam Masten (who posted 20 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
