Baseball Recap: Wayne City Takes a Loss

Wayne City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Stallions. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 6-1 to the Stallions when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dawson Wood made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Wayne City's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Wayne City will take on Zeigler-Royalton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, they will challenge Marquette Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
