Basketball Game Preview: Gainesville Red Elephants vs. Milton Eagles

The Gainesville Red Elephants will take on the Milton Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gainesville will be strutting in after a win while Milton will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, Gainesville earned a 46-37 victory over Roswell. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Elephants.

Gainesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shailyn Jones led the charge by putting up 16 points. Brannen 'Branae' Shiloh was another key player, scoring 11 points.

Meanwhile, Milton faced Buford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Gainesville's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Milton, their loss dropped their record down to 21-4.

Gainesville suffered a grim 61-38 defeat to Milton in their previous meeting two weeks ago. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Red Elephants were down 35-13.
