Basketball Recap: Edison Takes a Loss

If Edison was riding high fresh off their 84-59 takedown of Norwalk on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chargers fell 53-40 to the Monroeville Eagles on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Defeat or not, Edison got some senior leadership from Coltyn Meagrow and Cole Leimeister. Meagrow dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards, while Leimeister went 9-for-22 to rack up 22 points and three steals. Leimeister has become a key player for the Chargers: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 6-11 otherwise.

Edison's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Monroeville, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5.

Edison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-50 win against Oak Harbor on the 25th. As for Monroeville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-58 victory against South Central on the 20th.
