Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Polar Bears vs. Washington Tigers

The Jackson Polar Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Washington Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, Jackson got the win against McKinley by a conclusive 10-1.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Washington and Hoover, and Hoover kept the tradition alive. The Tigers fell 4-1 to the Vikings on Tuesday.

Jackson's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Washington, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Jackson was able to grind out a solid victory over Washington in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Polar Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
