Recap: Southeast Golden Buffalo vs. South Titans
The Southeast Golden Buffalo lost against the South Titans back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Southeast fell 58-50 to South. Southeast has not had much luck with South recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Southeast had strong showings from Alana Webb, who scored 20 points, and Leela Jones, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Webb scored a full 40% of Southeast's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ma'khiyah Jones, who scored seven points.
Southeast's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. As for South, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Southeast will head out on the road to face off against Derby at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Derby has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 234 points over their last four matchups. As for South, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 209th, while South is ranked 73rd).
