Basketball Game Preview: Rogers Royals vs. Spring Lake Park Panthers

The Rogers Royals will take on the Spring Lake Park Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rogers' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.

Last Saturday, Rogers ended up a good deal behind Prior Lake and lost 75-60. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Lakers are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Spring Lake Park had just enough and edged Stillwater out 57-54 on Saturday. The 57-point effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Spring Lake Park has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Rogers, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Rogers came up short against Spring Lake Park when the teams last played back in February, falling 84-73. Can Rogers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
