Football Recap: Linden Comes Up Short

Linden extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a 35-18 bruising from the Colonia Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 21-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Colonia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.5 points over those games.

Colonia got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rj Wortman out in front who picked up 179 receiving yards and three scores. Dylan Chiera was another key signal caller, throwing for 222 yards and three TDs.

Looking ahead, Linden will square off against Watchung Hills Regional on Friday. As for Colonia, they will face off against Woodbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
