Baseball Recap: Paul VI Takes a Loss

Paul VI came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-7 to the Hartsville Red Foxes. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Foxes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Owen Peltier was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Peltier is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Leo Blough, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Paul VI's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Hartsville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Paul VI Panthers challenge Bluffton Bobcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hartsville, they will challenge Wilson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
