Zapata entered their tilt with George West on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the George West Longhorns 50-48.

Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathan Cantu, who went 7 of 14 en route to 17 points and six rebounds. Cantu is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tristen Blevins, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 17 points and five steals.

Zapata has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for George West, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Zapata will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Economedes at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for George West, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Taft at 1:15 p.m.
