Softball Game Preview: Lake Shore Eagles vs. Silver Creek Black Knights

Lake Shore is a perfect 3-0 against Silver Creek since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagles will welcome the Black Knights at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Lake Shore is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Monday. They blew past Maryvale 16-7.

Meanwhile, Silver Creek made easy work of Southwestern on Monday and carried off a 9-3 win. The Black Knights haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Maddie Blair spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 16 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Priya Sakpal, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kyla Ziegler was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Lake Shore skirted past Silver Creek 6-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Black Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
