Jett Taylor's Big Game Leads Grand Saline over Harmony

Starting off the list is Grand Saline's Jett Taylor, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Taylor rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 84 yards and a touchdown.

The win for Grand Saline keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Taylor and Grand Saline are taking a road trip to challenge Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Trevor Golightly Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Trevor Golightly posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Unfortunately for Quitman, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Golightly. Golightly threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 12-for-12 passing, and also rushed for 36 yards the last time he and Quitman duked it out back in October of 2023.

Prairiland was led to victory by Luke Rhoades, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Rhoades wasn't messing around, picking up three sacks, making 15 total tackles, and defending a pass. The contest was his third straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.

The victory snapped Prairiland's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. Rhoades and Prairiland will face off against Lone Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
