Basketball Game Preview: Porter Spartans vs. Rudder Rangers

The Porter Spartans will be taking part in a tournament against the Rudder Rangers at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Porter is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Porter took a blow against Tarkington, falling 58-29. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Rudder ended up a good deal behind Lake Creek on Friday and lost 64-49. The Rangers haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Porter will need focus on slowing down Brandon Cooks, one of several Rudder players who made an impact when they last played. He posted ten points and four steals. That's the most points Cooks has posted since back in November. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Davis, who earned seven points.

Porter's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Rudder, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
