Baseball Recap: River Mill Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River Mill). Everything went their way against the Central Carolina Academy Eagles on Thursday as the River Mill Jaguars made off with a 15-2 win. While the Jaguars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Harrison Saenz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

River Mill pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Central Carolina Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, River Mill and Central Carolina Academy will both be playing Southern Wake Academy the next time they take the field. River Mill will host Southern Wake Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while Central Carolina Academy will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on March 31st.
