Volleyball Game Preview: Cromwell Panthers vs. Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils

Cromwell is 2-8 against Coginchaug Regional since November of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. Cromwell will be strutting in after a win while Coginchaug Regional will be coming in after a loss.

Cromwell will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Haddam-Killingworth, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Panthers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-19, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Coginchaug Regional lost 3-0 to Valley Regional on Tuesday. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-15.

Coginchaug Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Cromwell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Everything went Cromwell's way against Coginchaug Regional when the teams last played last Monday, as Cromwell made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
