Softball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Gig Harbor Tides, falling 21-8.

Joy Wilde made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Bass, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Lincoln hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Gig Harbor, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Lincoln didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 23-1 defeat against Timberline on the 26th. As for Gig Harbor, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-1 victory against Stadium on the 25th.
