Basketball Recap: De Leon Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when De Leon took on May on Saturday. The De Leon Bearcats were dealt a 69-32 loss at the hands of the May Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1221st, while the Tigers are ranked 459th).

De Leon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for May, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

De Leon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Poolville at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for May, they will challenge Gustine at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
