Baseball Recap: King's Academy Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only King's Academy walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves on Monday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Alec Cabrera and Luke Shelhamer did most of the damage at the plate: Cabrera scored three runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4, while Shelhamer scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four hits gave Cabrera a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dominic Bretti, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

King's Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oxbridge Academy only posted an OBP of .462.

King's Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Oxbridge Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.

King's Academy has already played their next match (against Saint Andrew's), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Oxbridge Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
