Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Centennial's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

There's no place like home for Centennial, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions 3-2. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Mountain Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

While Centennial might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Sierra Vista scored at least 11 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 15-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centennial to victory, but perhaps none more so than RJ Regalado, who had 25 assists and two aces. That's the most assists Regalado has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Wagner, who had ten digs and two aces.

Regalado wasn't the only good server: Centennial was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sierra Vista only served three aces.

Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Sierra Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will host Cheyenne at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sierra Vista, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
