Basketball Game Preview: Lely Trojans vs. Seacrest Country Day Stingrays

The Lely Trojans will take on the Seacrest Country Day Stingrays in a holiday battle at at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Seacrest Country Day took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lely, who comes in off a win.

Lely is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Immokalee: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Lely blew Immokalee out of the water with a 60-15 final score. With the Trojans ahead 39-1 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Fara Louissaint was her usual excellent self, going 7 of 8 on her way to 17 points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleah Estrada, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Lely smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Seacrest Country Day's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. The matchup between them and First Baptist Academy didn't end well, with Seacrest Country Day falling 48-31. The game marked the Stingrays' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

The victory got Lely back to even at 5-5. As for Seacrest Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Things could have been worse for Lely, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-40 loss to Seacrest Country Day in their previous matchup back in December of 2023.
