Basketball Recap: Hanover Central Has No Trouble Against River Forest

With a playoff win on the line, Hanover Central rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the River Forest Ingots with a sharp 48-26 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Ingots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Sienna Antkiewicz had an outrageously good game as she went 8 for 13 to rack up 17 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Those six assists gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bridget Noel, who posted four points and nine boards.

Antkiewicz wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Hanover Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Forest only racked up four assists.

Despite the loss, River Forest had strong showings from D'Yanna Hurn, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Gracelyn Cordero, who earned six points. Hurn has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played.

Hanover Central's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for River Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

Hanover Central has already played their next contest, a 45-34 loss against Lowell on the 8th. River Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
