Football Recap: Rigby Falls Short Against Ranked Bishop Kelly + How To Watch

Rigby faced Bishop Kelly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Trojans lost to the Knights on the road by a 29-15 margin. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Kelly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Avella, who threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns. Avella is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Boston Huskey was another key pass catcher, picking up 111 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Having lost for the first time this season, Rigby fell to 3-1. As for Bishop Kelly, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Rigby will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lewiston at 7:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Bishop Kelly, they will square off against Nampa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
