Volleyball Recap: Kellogg Takes a Loss

Kellogg entered their contest against East Grand Rapids on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2017.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Grand Rapids to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Winkel, who had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces Winkel has posted since back in August of 2024.

Kellogg now has a losing record of 5-6. As for East Grand Rapids, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-4.

Kellogg has already played their next matchup (against Lakewood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for East Grand Rapids, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Cedar Springs on the 20th.
