Football Recap: Northfield Comes Up Short at Home Against North Miami

Northfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the North Miami Warriors on Friday, falling 44-15. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Norsemen of the 35-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Northfield still got an impressive performance from Briggs Baker, who rushed for 66 yards and one TD. Luke Eviston helped out on the ground, rushing for 91 yards.

Ryan Meredith went supernova For North Miami., rushing for 207 yards and four touchdowns on only five carries. Meredith was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Lake Musall, who rushed for 95 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries.

Coming up, Northfield will head out to take on Lewis Cass at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Norsemen's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for North Miami, they will host Wabash at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
