Basketball Recap: Nevaeh Dobson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat James Kenan

Wallace-Rose Hill lost to James Kenan last Thursday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs secured a 44-40 W over the James Kenan Tigers.

Wallace-Rose Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nevaeh Dobson led the charge by dropping a double-double with 18 points and 19 rebounds. Those 18 points gave Dobson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Analeise Rivenbark, who posted eight points in addition to 13 boards and three blocks.

Wallace-Rose Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 19 consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, James Kenan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Y'Anna Rivers went 7-for-17 en route to 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Rivers has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Outlaw, who earned eight points and four steals.

Wallace-Rose Hill's record is now 6-14. As for James Kenan, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-8.

As of now, neither Wallace-Rose Hill nor James Kenan have any future games scheduled.
