The Bolsa Grande Matadors will face off against the Magnolia Sentinels at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Bolsa Grande's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Magnolia has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
While Bolsa Grande's victory against Saddleback wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Matadors had just enough and edged out the Roadrunners 8-7 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Bolsa Grande let Mikey Haley Jr. and Samuel Montes De Oca run wild. Haley Jr. went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and three RBI, while Montes De Oca scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Bolsa Grande is undefeated when Montes De Oca posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Junior Rizo was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Bolsa Grande kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Magnolia lost 13-1 to Santiago on Friday.
Magnolia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Moniz, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Santiago Cortez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Bolsa Grande has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Magnolia, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Magnolia's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bolsa Grande has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Magnolia, though, as they've been averaging 10 hits. Given Bolsa Grande's sizable advantage in that area, the Sentinels will need to find a way to close that gap.
Bolsa Grande suffered a grim 19-13 defeat to Magnolia in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Matadors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
