Basketball Recap: Suni Bowman and Dakotta Longbrake Secure Win for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte lost to Timber Lake back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves walked away with a 71-63 win over the Timber Lake Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Braves.

Leading Cheyenne-Eagle Butte to victory were Dakotta Longbrake and Suni Bowman. Longbrake posted 29 points and six steals, while Bowman dropped a double-double with 25 points and 12 boards. Those 29 points gave Longbrake a new career-high. Another player making a difference was JaiLynn Knife, who scored six points and five rebounds.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.
