Basketball Game Preview: Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts vs. Fond du Lac Cardinals

Kaukauna is on a 17-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Fond du Lac is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts will welcome the Fond du Lac Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Kaukauna's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Friday, Kaukauna didn't have too much trouble with Kimberly as they won 98-79. Given the Galloping Ghosts' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Papermakers are ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Fond du Lac was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 85-80 to Oshkosh North. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (76), the Cardinals still had to take the loss.

Kaukauna is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.9 points over those games. Fond du Lac's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6.
